Studie Etické a právní aspekty perinatální ztráty a perinatální paliativní péče přináší do českého prostředí první ucelené pojednání týkající se této problematiky. V rovině etické a právní se průřezově věnuje tématům souvisejícím s těhotenstvím, umělým přerušením těhotenství, porodem a potratem, rozhodováním o poskytování péče předčasně narozeným dětem a dětem narozeným na hranici, nakládáním s lidskými pozůstatky nebo pohřbíváním. Pojednává o tom, jaká je současná praxe, tu podrobuje kritické eticko-právní reflexi a dovozuje, jaká by praxe měla být. V tomto smyslu je studie současně deskriptivní a preskriptivní. Českou klinickou praxi rovněž srovnává s praxí zahraniční. V tomto smyslu je studií komparativní a přináší cenné informace o zahraniční zkušenosti s uvedenými tématy, čímž nabízí inspiraci pro další rozvoj v českém prostředí. Některá z témat nebylo s ohledem na rozsah práce možné pojednat podrobně, autoři studie tak text nabízí jako podnět pro navazující diskuze a další rozpracování.

The thesis, Ethical and legal aspects of perinatal loss and perinatal palliative care, brings the first comprehensive study on the issue to the Czech environment. In terms of ethics and law, it deals cross-sectionally with topics related to pregnancy, abortions, childbirth and miscarriage, to decision-making on the provision of care to premature babies and babies born at the borderline of viability, to human remains or burial. It discusses what the current clinical practice is, subjects it to critical ethical-legal reflection and suggests what the practice should be. In this sense, the study is both descriptive and prescriptive. It also compares Czech clinical practice with foreign practice. In this sense, it is a comparative study and provides valuable information about foreign experience with these topics, thus offering inspiration for further development in the Czech environment. Some of the topics could not be discussed in detail due to the scope of the these, thus the authors of the study offer the text as a stimulus for further discussions and elaboration.
