Ve své drobné knížce Descartes Nikétés (2021) se Ladislav Kvasz kriticky vymezuje k hlavnímu proudu karteziánských studií, který vykresluje Descartovu fyziku jako přírodní filosofii stojící stranou vývoje matematické fyziky. Kvasz tak činí prostřednictvím kritiky interpretace Descartovy fyziky, již ve své nedávno vydané práci podává australský historik a filosof vědy J. A. Schuster, přičemž klade zvláštní důraz na otázku povahy a funkce Descartovy „metody“. Protože Kvasz odhlíží od Schusterovy sociologické inspirace, zatěžuje svůj kritický rozbor mnohými nedorozuměními, v nichž nakonec neběží o nic menšího než o Descartovu epistemickou soběstačnost.

In his book Descartes Nikétés (2021), Ladislav Kvasz critically defines himself against the mainstream of Cartesian studies, which portrays Descartes’ physics as a natural philosophy standing apart from the development of mathematical physics. Kvasz does so through a critique of Australian historian and philosopher of science J. A. Schuster’s interpretation of Descartes’ physics, with particular emphasis on the question of the nature and function of Descartes’ “method”. Because Kvasz departs from Schuster’s sociological inspiration, he burdens his critical analysis with many misunderstandings, which ultimately concern nothing less than Descartes’ epistemic self-sufficiency.
