Vladimír Mandl odmítal teorii relativity a zdánlivá stopa k jeho kontaktu s A. Einsteinem v problému gravitačních čoček se ukázala být falešná. O to významnější stopu V. Mandl zanechal v kosmonautice, kde byl průkopníkem oboru kosmického práva. Ve své knize Problém mezihvězdné dopravy shrnul historické představy o letech do vesmíru a navrhnul některá svérazná technická řešení v raketové technice.

Vladimír Mandl refused the theory of relativity and the putative trace to his contact with A. Einstein on the problem of gravitational lenses turned out to be false. The more significant trace is left by V. Mandl in astronautics, where he was a pioneer in the field of space law. In his book The Problem of Interstellar Transport he summarized the historical ideas about space flights and proposed some peculiar technical solutions in rocket engineering.
