Výstava čerpala z výsledků několikaleté spolupráce archeologů, stavebních technologů a odborníků z oblasti geologie, geochemie, mineralogie a petrografie. Po formální stránce šlo o panelovou instalaci doplněnou výběrem originálních hmotných nálezů. Výstava představila mikulčickou zděnou architekturu především po archeologické a stavebně-technologické stránce. Důležitou součástí obsahu výstavy bylo téma týkající se hledání zdrojů surovin na stavbu zděných objektů v Mikulčicích: stavebního kamene a vápence na pálení vápna nezbytného pro přípravu malty. Tyto otázky jsou důležité mimo jiné z hlediska poznání hospodářských vztahů Mojmírovské Moravy spojených s distribucí strategických surovin, mezi něž stavební kámen i vápno zajisté patřily.

The exhibition drew on the results of several years of collaboration between archaeologists, building technologists and experts in geology, geochemistry, mineralogy and petrography. Formally, it was a panel installation accompanied by a selection of original material finds. The exhibition presented the brick architecture of Mikulčice mainly in terms of archaeology and construction technology. An important part of the exhibition was the topic of the search for sources of raw materials for the construction of brick buildings in Mikulčice: building stone and limestone for burning lime necessary for the preparation of mortar. These questions are important, among other things, in terms of understanding the economic relations of Mojmirid Moravia connected with the distribution of strategic raw materials, which most definitely included building stone and lime.
