The proposal for an EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence was published by the European Commission in February 2022. It lays down obligations for large companies to manage adverse impacts on human rights and the environment by means of risk-based due diligence processes. The legislative material raises questions on the regulatory design, practical implementation and judicial enforcement that the workshop seeks to address. The participants of the workshop will assess the proposal from different angles.
