The paper commented on the rising trend of climate change litigation. Then it concentrated on the litigations against governments, aimed at stronger mitigation efforts, and explained the main arguments from the fields of law and climate science, focused on legal substantiation of the state emission reduction commitments, concerning the nationally determined contributions, and the carbon budget method.
