The aim of this work was to synthetise g-C3N4 in the argon atmosphere and to study its physico-chemical, textural, and morphological properties. The prepared materials were characterized by common techniques and the presence of vacancies was investigated by positron annihilation spectroscopy. The materials were used for the photocatalytic evolution of hydrogen. The best photocatalyst showed 3 times higher
performance (1547 μmol/g) than bulk g-C3N4 synthetized in the air (547 μmol/g) [2].
