Mnoho vědeckých témat je velmi vzdáleno lidské zkušenosti a chápání, například molekulární mechanismy, obrovská časová měřítka nebo složité formy a životní cykly. Ilustrace jsou jedním z důležitých nástrojů, jimiž mohou vědci a pedagogové objasnit a přiblížit komplikovanou skutečnost studentům i laikům.

Scientists can use different rhetorical devices, as part of how images are composed and how they work, in order to make complex subjects easier to understand. Here we outline these signs and devices that can be used to make informative and fun 'cute plants'
