Antibody effector functions are fundamental to adaptive immune responses. The interaction between the fragment crystallizable (Fc) region of immunoglobulins and specific receptors triggers a wide range of effector functions, such as phagocytosis or antibody-mediated cytotoxicity of CD8+ T cells. Although the interaction between immunoglobulin isotypes and their corresponding receptors in mammalian models has been extensively studied, our understanding of immunoglobulin receptors and their function in teleost fish is limited.
