The uneven distribution of the National Climate Acts in the EU.
[Workshop Comparing National Climate Policies and Law: Challenges and Opportunities. Heidelberg, 09.10.2023-10.10.2023]
    Institutional support: RVO:68378122
Keywords : Framework climate laws * national climate acts * climate legislation

The presentation analysed the trend of adopting framework climate laws in the European Union. The adoption of these laws is a trend, which appears, however, almost exclusively in Western Europe, ie. the new EU member states (i.e. Eastern) are lagging in the adoption of these laws. Therefore, in addition to the introductory theory on framework climate laws, the presentation focused on the situation in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. In particular, the presentation analyzed the reasons for the adoption of such a law as well as the barriers preventing this adoption.
