Kniha představuje několikero pohledů na fenomén výmladkových lesů. Formou autorských kapitol ukazuje ekologické, historické, estetické a hospodářské aspekty tohoto tradičního typu lesního hospodaření. Výmladkové lesy mají bohatou historii, váže se na nich velká část biodiverzity různých skupin organismů, mají své estetické kvality. Obnova výmladkových lesů v současnosti je bohatě ilustrována v obrazové části publikace.

The book presents several perspectives on the phenomenon of coppice forests. The author's chapters show the ecological, historical, aesthetic and economic aspects of this traditional type of forest management. The coppice forests have a rich history, a large part of the biodiversity of different groups of organisms is linked to them, and they have their own aesthetic qualities. The restoration of coppice forests today is richly illustrated in the photographic part of the publication.
