Statja posvjaščena ličnosti vizantologa N. P. Kondakova (1844-1925) i filosofskomu voprosu objektivnosti učenogo. Avtory analizirujut moment vybora buduščim učjonym svojej professii vo vtoroj polovine 19 veka i polemizirujut s I. Foletti, utverždavšim, čto Kondakov v imperialističeskoj Rossijskoj imperii stroil svoju karjeru neosoznanno i pod vlijanijem tendencij vremeni.
The article is devoted to the personality of the byzantologist N.P. Kondakov (1844-1925) and the philosophical question of the scientist's objectivity. The article analyzes the moment when a future scientist chooses his profession in the second half of the 19th century. The article argues with the opinion of Ivan Foletti, that Kondakov built his career in the imperialist Russian Empire unconsciously and under the influence of contemporary trends.
