Od roku 2012 začala na Archeologickém ústavu AV ČR v Praze s podporou projektu NAKI vznikat tzv. Archeologická mapa České republiky. Zrodila se jako vize sjednocené informační základny ve formě mapové aplikace. Ze své podstaty se nemohlo nikdy jednat o statické mapové dílo, protože obsah mapy musí být neustále obohacován o výsledky nově realizovaných terénních výzkumů. Mapa se tak stala jednou ze součástí širšího informačního systému, který se postupně proměnil v platformu podporující digitalizaci archeologie v ČR. Kolem tzv. Archeologického informačního systému České republiky (AIS CR) se stabilizoval expertní tým pečující o data, služby i uživatele, byl sestaven ekosystém vzájemně provázaných a na různé uživatelské skupiny zaměřených aplikací a došlo ke standardizaci pracovních postupů a v důsledku i zacelení některých nedostatků současné památkové legislativy. AIS CR je dnes možné využít i jako nástroj k publikaci interaktivních map v pojetí programů NAKI, jak bylo demonstrováno např. v rámci nedávno splněného projektu Archeologie z nebe.

Since 2012, the Institute of Archaeology of the CAS in Prague, with the support of the NAKI project, has been creating the so-called Archaeological Map of the Czech Republic. It was born as a vision of a unified information base in the form of a map application. By its very nature, it could never be a static map work, because the content of the map had to be constantly enriched by the results of newly implemented field research. The map thus became one of the components of a broader information system, which gradually transformed into a platform supporting the digitisation of archaeology in the Czech Republic. Around the so-called Archaeological Information System of the Czech Republic (AIS CR), an expert team taking care of data, services and users was stabilised, an ecosystem of interconnected and different user group-oriented applications was assembled, and working procedures were standardised and, as a result, some of the shortcomings of the current heritage legislation were closed. AIS CR can now also be used as a tool for publishing interactive maps in the concept of NAKI programmes, as demonstrated, for example, in the recently completed Archaeology from the Sky project.
