Obory jsou starobylým dědictvím naší krajiny. Obory často zahrnují cenná přírodní území, která se zřejmě zachovala právě díky dlouhodobé kontinuitě obor. Současné hospodaření je však tlačeno k ekonomické efektivitě a obory jsou mnohdy přezvěřeny. Kvůli tomu ubývá biodiverzita, což ilustruje příklad Milovického lesa na jižní Moravě.
Game enclosures are an ancient heritage of our landscape. They often include valuable natural areas that may have been preserved due to the long-term continuity of the game management. However, current management is pushed towards economic efficiency, leading to excessive game density. As a result, biodiversity is declining, as illustrated by the example of the Milovice Wood in southern Moravia.
