Měděnec (Kupferberg) je jedním z horních měst a městeček v Krušných horách. Zdejší komunita se musela přizpůsobit náročným horským podmínkám a podílet se na těžbě nerostů i přes minimální výnos z této činnosti. Studie analyzuje environmentální a socio-ekonomické aspekty těžby, které byly významné zejména v obdobích nízkých výnosů, kdy se těžilo především pro zachování statusu horního města.

Měděnec (Kupferberg) is one of the historical mining towns in the Ore Mountains region. The community had to persist the extreme weather condition of the mounains and to participate on the mining activities even if they had only very poor benefit from it. The paper discusses the environmental and social-economic conditions under which the mining activities were sustained during the periods of low profits from the ore mining.
