Kapitola je inspirována terminografickým dílem Jána Horeckého, zvláště jeho terminologickým slovníkem, který vydal (spolu s A. Rácovou) v roce 1979. Slovník vyšel v době, kdy česká a slovenská lingvistika ještě nebyla výrazně ovlivněna interakční lingvistikou, analýzou diskurzu, konverzační analýzou, etnografií komunikace a dalšími podobnými přístupy, a kdy zkoumání mluvených komunikátů bylo teprve v počátcích. Při vší úctě k záslužnému dílu prof. Horeckého je zjevné, že v současné době řešíme zcela odlišné terminologické problémy. Neustále vlastně provádíme „terminologický management“, při němž se rozhodujeme mezi užíváním anglických termínů a hledáním českých ekvivalentů. Při tom využíváme všechny možnosti popsané J. Horeckým: mechanické přejímky, přejímky s adaptací, překlady (často ve formě kalků), nebo vytváření původních domácích termínů. V této kapitole je věnována pozornost řadě termínů z oblasti syntaxe a stylistiky, se zřetelem k analýze mluvené, zejména dialogické komunikace. Pozornost zasluhují i věcné rejstříky současných publikací, které mají pro „terminologický management“ nemalý význam.

This chapter is inspired by Ján Horecký’s terminography work, above all his terminological dictionary, which he published (together with A. Rácová) in 1979. The dictionary came out during a time when Czech and Slovak linguistics had still by far not yet been so heavily influenced by interactional linguistics, discourse analysis, conversation analysis, the ethnography of communication and other similar approaches, and when it was beginning to deal with spoken texts. With all due respect to the merits of J. Horecký, it is apparent that at present, we are dealing with significantly different terminological problems (the results of these processes can be observed, for example, in the New Encyclopedic Dictionary of Czech, 2016). At each step, we are in fact conducting terminology management, during which we are choosing between using English terms and searching for Czech equivalents. In doing this, we utilize all of the possibilities described by J. Horecký: mechanical borrowing, borrowing with certain adaptations, translation (often in the form of calques), or the creation of original domestic terms. In this chapter, the attention is given to many terms from syntax and stylistics, profiled here mainly for the analysis of spoken, especially dialogical communication. Attention is focused partly also on the subject indices of contemporary publications, as the significance of indices for “terminology management” is non-negligible.
