Hlavním cílem 12. sjezdu českých historiků bylo kriticky bilancovat a hodnotit současný stav historického bádání v České republice a postavení historie v kontextu humanitních věd. Organizátoři připravili tři hlavní tematické sekce, bohatý odborný program sjezdu naplnilo též 40 volných tematických panelů. Byla představena doktorandská posterová sekce. Konala se speciální sekce německých historiků bohemistů. Zazněly diskuse v rámci šesti kulatých stolů; konal se workshop pro učitele dějepisu. Sjezd byl zahájen přednáškou francouzského historika prof. Alaina Soubigou o T. G. Masarykovi a jeho vztahu k českým historikům. Na sjezdu vystoupili zástupci Polskiego Towarzystwa Historycznego a Slovenské historické společnosti. Účastníci navštívili v rámci doprovodného programu stálou expozici Naši Němci v Muzeu města Ústí nad Labem.

The main goal of the 12th meeting of a community of Czech historians was to critically evaluate the current state of historical research in the Czech Republic and the position of history in the context of the humanities. The organizers prepared three main thematic sections, the rich professional program of the meeting was also filled with 40 free thematic panels. A doctoral poster session was presented. A special section of German historians of the Bohemians was held. There were discussions within six round tables; a workshop for history teachers was held. The conference was opened with a lecture by the French historian Prof. Alain Soubigou about T. G. Masaryk and his relationship with Czech historians. Representatives of the Polskiego Towarzystwa Historycznego and the Slovak Historical Society spoke at the convention. As part of the accompanying program, the participants visited the permanent exhibition Our Germans in the Museum of the City of Ústí nad Labem.
