Raně středověký šperk v kontextu střední Evropy představuje fenomén, propojující vlivy franského západu s byzantským východem. Lze jej zároveň považovat za klíčovou součást identifikace a sebereprezentace elit, které prostřednictvím integrace nadregionálních kulturních vlivů vytvářely vlastní svébytnou identitu. Nuance odhalující detailní časové a prostorové vazby šperku jsou přitom podmíněny podrobným výrobně-technologickým průzkumem. V rámci druhého workshopu zaměřeného na šperk zazněly příspěvky a následná diskuze, které se cíleně zaměřily na raně středověké gombíky s tepanou výzdobou.

In the context of Central Europe, early medieval jewellery represents a phenomenon connecting the influences of the Frankish West and the Byzantine East. At the same time, it can be considered a key part of the identification and self-representation of the elites, who created their own distinctive identity through the integration of supra-regional cultural influences. At the same time, the nuances revealing the detailed temporal and spatial links of the jewellery are conditioned by a detailed production-technological research. In the framework of the second workshop focused on jewellery, there were contributions and a subsequent discussion, which specifically focused on early medieval spherical hollow buttons (gombíky) with hammered decoration.
