This paper describes the mathematical modeling of a hybrid bus with a fuel cell and batteries. The main purpose is to model the driving cycle and to calculate energy consumption and losses in all parts of the drivetrain, voltages, currents, etc. during the driving cycle. The bus is equipped with a 100 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) and a 70 kW fuel cell, the battery supplies the energy when the fuel cell power is not sufficient, during fast transitions, or when regenerative braking is required. The motor and battery parts of the model have been experimentally verified.
