Při příležitosti výročí padesáti let od smrti Antonína Škarky byl připomenut význam osoby a díla této mimořádné postavy české literární historie. Konference nahlédla nejen široké spektrum jeho vědecké činnosti od prací medievistických po barokologické, ale i jeho ediční činnost a korespondenci, která poskytuje plastický obraz atmosféry poválečné vědy i mezinárodní komunikace ve světě rozděleném železnou oponou.

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Antonín Škarka, the importance of the person and work of this extraordinary figure in Czech literary history was recalled. The conference gave an insight into not only the broad spectrum of his scientific activity, from medieval to baroque works, but also his editorial activity and correspondence, which provides a plastic picture of the atmosphere of post-war science and international communication in a world divided by the Iron Curtain.
