Die Studie behandelt die Situation in Budweis, der ranghöchsten königslichen Stadt Südböhmens, während des Ständeaufstandes 1618-1620 durch das Prisma verschiedener Formen der politischen Kommunikation. Im Zentrum der Aufmerksamkeit steht ein bemerkenswerter Umbruch in der Stadtführung Mitte des Jahres 1618 und die darauffolgende Vermischung der Kompetenzen ziviler und militärischer Behörden im Stadtorganismus. Auch städtische Gesandte und die technischen Hemmungen der Kommunikation während der Belagerung der Stadt durch das Ständeheer kommen ins Spiel.

The study discusses the situation in the leading South Bohemian royal city of České Budějovice during during the Estatesʼ Rebellion of 1618-1620 through the prism of various forms of political communication. In the center of attention is a remarkable upheaval in the cityʼs leadership in the middle of 1618 and the subsequent intermingling of the competences of civil and military authorities in the city organism. City envoys and the technical limits of communication during the siege of the city by the estate army also come into play.
