Letní škola klasických studií se zabývala podobami veřejné řeči od antiky po současnost. Zaměřila se na otázku, co znamenalo být řečníkem v antice. Účastníci se dozvěděli nejen to, jaké řečnické a performativní prostředky k veřejnému vystoupení řečník používal, jak se vzdělával, ale představíme také otázky jeho etické zodpovědnosti za řečené, stejně jako prostředky, jimiž své posluchače ovlivňoval a manipuloval. Tyto otázky pak byly zkoumány i v dalších staletích, jež z řečnické tradice antiky čerpala, ale dílny a přednášky představily i problematiku veřejné řeči a nároků, jež jsou na ni kladeny, v dalších médiích.


The summer school of classical studies discussed variety of forms of public speech from Antiquity to the present. It focused on questions such as of what it meant to be an orator in Classical Antiquity, what rhetorical and performative means the rhetor used for public performance, how he was educated, but we will also present questions of his ethical responsibility for what he said, as well as the means by which he influenced and manipulated his listeners. These questions were then examined diachronically with an emphasis on the reception of classical influences, while the workshops and lectures also presented the issue of public speech and the demands placed on it in other media.
