Kapitola pojednává o hlavních aspektech vývoje židovské komunity v Boskovicích v letech 1848–1942. Dynamiku určovalo zrovnoprávnění židů, které vyvolalo nejen snahy o integraci do většinové společnosti, ale také spory mezi reformními a ortodoxními židy ohledně míry integrace. Snahy o začlenění se do okolní společnosti navíc narážely na lhostejnost či přímo odpor okolní společnosti. Pokusy o náboženskou nebo nacionální obrodu početně se zmenšující židovské komunity zhatila nacistická okupace a deportace do koncentračních táborů.

The chapter deals with the main aspects of the development of the Jewish community in Boskovice in the years 1848-1942. The dynamics was determined by the equalisation of Jews, which not only triggered efforts to integrate into the majority society, but also disputes between Reform and Orthodox Jews over the degree of the integration. Moreover, efforts to integrate into the surrounding society met with indifference or even resistance from the surrounding society. Attempts at religious or national revival of the shrinking Jewish community were thwarted by the Nazi occupation and deportation to concentration camps.
