Předložená studie zkoumá obraz husitské doby představený v prvním vydání Kalendáře historického Daniela Adama z Veleslavína z roku 1578. Autor článku identifikuje prameny použité Veleslavínem pro popis dějin českých zemí v 15. století, sleduje postupy uplatněné při modifikaci jejich informací a pokouší se o rekonstrukci Veleslavínova názoru na události spojené s reformním hnutím pod obojí. Rozbor vybraných fragmentů ukazuje, že přestože Daniel Adam z Veleslavína pracuje s texty psanými katolickými autory, na rozdíl od nich pomocí změn provedených v citovaných zdrojích a parafrázování vykresluje české husity jakožto bojovníky pro “pravdu Kristovu” (tj. utrakvistické zásady) a za jejich antagonisty považuje Němce a Uhry. Kalendář historický by tedy měl být vnímán a analyzován jako integrální součást české kališnické historiografie 16. století, respektive jako nejpopulárnější raně novověké historiografické dílo psané z utrakvistických pozic.

The paper examines the image of Hussite era as presented in the first edition of Daniel Adam of Veleslavín’s Historical Calendar (1578). It identifies the sources used by Veleslavín for description of 15th century history in Czech lands, follows the author’s method of modifying their information and makes an attempt to reconstruct Veleslavín’s view of events related to the anti-Catholic movement. Brief analysis proves that, despite using the sources written by the Catholic authors, Veleslavín by means of paraphrasing shows Czech Hussites as the warriors fighting for „the truth of Christ“, i.e. the Utraquist communion, against Germans and Hungarians. Therefore Historical Calendar should be perceived and analyzed as an integral part of the 16th century Czech Utraquist historiography.
