Tato kapitola se zabývá otázkou, jakými etickými pravidly by se měla řídit autonomní vozidla v kolizních situacích, tj. v takových situacích, kdy musí distribuovat újmu. Vychází z klasické diskuse trolley dilematu, to využívá jako ilustraci, ale především jako analytický nástroj. Umožňuje totiž klasifikovat všechny možné typy distribuce újmy v kolizních situacích. Kapitola definuje pojem újmy, určuje tři kategorie újmy – na majetku, zdraví a životech – a nakonec předkládá etiku minimalizace újmy. Zvláště se zaměřuje na situace nehomogenní distribuce újmy, tj. případy, kdy újma spadá do různých kategorií.

This chapter addresses the question of what ethical rules autonomous vehicles should follow in collision situations, i.e., situations where they must distribute harm. It draws on the classic discussion of the trolley dilemma, it uses this as an illustration but primarily as an analytical tool. Indeed, it allows us to classify all possible types of distribution of harm in conflict situations. The chapter defines the concept of harm, identifies three categories of harm - to property, health, and life - and finally presents an ethics of harm minimization. In particular, it focuses on situations of inhomogeneous distribution of harm, i.e., cases where harm falls into different categories.
