Keywords : archive and library collections * laser ablation * CO2 snow technique
OECD category: Physical chemistry
The results a scanning electron microscope showed that the CO2 snow jet can also remove particles ingrained into the surface. The laser cleaning removed particles after irradiation by 2 pulses with the efciency increasing with the number of pulses but with perceptible degradation that occurred after irradiation of 50 pulses.
This research was proved that the CO2 snow technique is more suitable method for cleaning of archive and library collections materials than the laser cleaning.
