Electrospun nanofibrous mats made of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) material proved to be very efficient especially in membrane distillation and separators in batteries. The question is for which polymer concentration (DMF as a solvent) the appearance of singularities (beads along the individual nanofibers) becomes suppressed and smooth (beadless) nanofibres appear. It was shown that this concentration closely correlates with an onset of viscoelasticity, in other words with an apparent decrease of a phase angle. Hence, for a determination of this turning concentration time and material consuming electrospinning experiments can be substituted by an inexpensive oscillatory rheological test.
