Práce se věnuje bohaté veřejné činnosti Marie Riegrové-Palacké. Riegrová-Palacká podporovala tradiční postavení ženy v rodině a společnosti, které směřovalo do vychovatelské a sociální oblasti. Úlohu ženy chápala jako podpůrnou a doplňující činnost mužů. Text popisuje její dlouhodobou úspěšnou práci ve prospěch pražské chudiny, vytvoření základů moderního systému chudinské péče a založení institucí pečujících o děti.

The work is devoted to the rich public activities of Marie Riegrová-Palacká. Riegrová-Palacká supported the traditional position of women in the family and society, which was directed to the educational and social field. She understood the role of women as a supporting and complementary activity of men. The text describes her long-term successful work for the benefit of the Prague poor, the creation of the foundations of a modern system of poor care and the establishment of childcare institutions.
