Myšlenka přiblížit veřejnosti archeologické památky v krajině pod Pavlovskými vrchy zahrnuje mj. dobu římskou, zejména problematiku římského vojenského zásahu na jižní Moravě. Prvním výstupem se roku 2007 stala expozice Římané a Germáni v kraji pod Pálavou v Regionálním muzeu v Mikulově. Záměr trvale prezentovat archeologické dědictví přímo v místech nejvýznamnějších objevů se začal naplňovat v roce 2015, kdy vznikla naučná stezka Mušov – Brána do Římské říše, na niž navázala další stezka, Germáni před branami Římské říše. Roku 2020 bylo na úpatí Hradiska u Mušova zprovozněno Návštěvnické centrum Mušov – Brána do římské říše. Jeho cílem je moderní interaktivní formou prezentovat výsledky archeologických výzkumů a přiblížit proces samotného archeologického poznání, to vše v autentickém prostoru římského naleziště.

The idea of bringing archaeological monuments in the landscape below the Pavlov Hills closer to the public includes among other things the Roman Period, especially the monuments connected with the Roman military intervention in southern Moravia. The first output was the exhibition Romans and Germans in the Landscape Below the Pálava Hills in the Regional Museum in Mikulov. The intention to permanently present the archaeological heritage directly in the place of the most important discoveries neared completion in 2015 when the educational trail Mušov – Gateway to the Roman Empire came into existence. This was followed by another trail, Germans at the Gates of the Roman Empire. Visitors Centre Mušov – Gateway to the Roman Empire was put into operation at the foot of Hradisko near Mušov in 2020. It presents the outcomes of excavations and describes the process of the archaeological research in a modern interactive form, all in the authentic area of a Roman site.
