Některé země s vhodnou geografickou polohou mohou mít energetický mix dominantně založený na obnovitelných zdrojích energie (OZE). Díky klimatickým podmínkám s omezenými možnostmi akumulace energie k nim ale Česká republika nepatří. Proto není možné postavit elektroenergetiku ČR na OZE jako na hlavním zdroji elektrické energie. Tento principiální geografický problém většina zastánců 100 % OZE bohužel pomíjí a v konečném důsledku takto škodí efektivnímu využití OZE, namísto prosazování scénářů proveditelných. Z reálných dat spotřeby a výroby vyplývá, že lze pokrýt maximálně ⅓ z OZE a zbytek musí pokrýt zdroje stabilní, tedy po žádoucí likvidaci zdrojů fosilních máme pouze ty jaderné.

Some countries with a suitable geographical location may have an energy mix predominantly based on renewable energy sources (RES). However, due to climatic conditions with limited possibilities of energy accumulation, the Czech Republic does not belong to them. Therefore, it is not possible to build the Czech electricity industry on RES as the main source of electricity. Unfortunately, most proponents of 100% RES ignore this fundamental geographical problem and ultimately harm the effective use of RES, instead of promoting feasible scenarios. Real consumption and production data show that it is possible to cover a maximum of RES and the rest must cover stable sources, so after the desired disposal of fossil resources we have only nuclear ones.
