Herein, we report a newly synthesized series of amphiphilic carbosilane dendrons bearing phosphonium groups on the periphery (Fig. 1). The series consists of six substrates with varying number of hydrophobic tails, tail lengths and number of hydrophilic dendritic wedges (Fig. 2). We have studied their supramolecular behaviour in aqueous media and drug loading efficiencies. Thanks to their cationic character, these substrates can be potentially used for the delivery of low-molecular and macromolecular bioactive cargo into cells.
