Článek popisuje nález neobvyklého typu artefaktu laténského stáří (Keltové) na hradišti Kotýz v Českém krasu. Artefakt je vyroben ze švartny, sapropelitu karbonského stáří. Diskutovány jsou etapy osídlení hradiště a problematika švartnových artefaktů.

The paper describes a find of an artefact made from “Schwarte”, sapropelite occurring in the Upper Carboniferous coal-bearing series of Kladno-Rakovník Basin in the territory of the Rakovník and Kladno districts in central Bohemia. This type of sapropelite was extensively used by Celts for production of bracelets (armlets) and, to a lesser degree, also of other artefacts. The described artefact was found within the fortified area of Kotýz Hillfort in the Bohemian Karst, at a distance of several tens of km from the primary “Schwarte” sources. The Kotýz Hillfort was used during the Late Bronze Age, Hallstatt period and again during early medieval period. The find does not fit to these periods. Its exact purpose and circumstances leading to its presence at Kotýz are unknown.
