Svazek obsahuje přehlédnutou, doplněným vysvětlivkovým aparátem doprovozenou a novým komentářem vybavenou edici Básnických spisů Otokara Březiny, kterou jako 91. svazek edice Národní knihovna roku 1975 pro Československý spisovatel edičně připravili Břetislav Štorek a – z politických důvodů v knize neuvedený – Miroslav Červenka. Pro tento postup se dnešní editoři rozhodli z toho důvodu, že kritická edice B. Štorka a M. Červenky je po stránce textologické provedena mimořádně pečlivě a důsledně, a proto je možné na práci obou editorů s prospěchem navázat. Text edice z roku 1975 korigují jen v detailech odstraněním nečetných tiskových chyb a v určitých pravopisných jevech, daných proměnou ortografické normy. V ediční zprávě dokumentují na základě archivních dokladů spolupráci M. Červenky a B. Štorka, podávají důkladnou zprávu o vzniku jejich edice a doplňují informace ke způsobu edičního zpracování, který oba starší editoři zvolili.

The volume contains an overlooked edition of Otokar Březina's poetic writings, accompanied by a new commentary and supplemented with explanatory material, which was prepared for Československý spisovatel by Břetislav Štorek and - for political reasons not mentioned in the book - Miroslav Červenka as the 91st volume of the National Library edition in 1975. The present editors decided because the critical edition of B. Štorek and M. Červenka's textological work is extremely thorough and rigorous, and it is therefore possible to build on the work of both editors with benefit. They correct the text of the 1975 edition only in detail by removing numerous typographical errors and in certain spelling phenomena due to the change in the orthographic standard. In the editorial report, they document the cooperation of M. Červenka and B. Štork on the basis of archival documents, give a thorough account of the creation of their edition and add information on the editorial method chosen by the two older editors.
