Die volkstümliche Hinterglasmalerei Ostschlesiens zählt zu den eigenständigen regionalen Varianten. Ihre Entstehung ist mit dem östlich von Ostrava gelegenen Gebiet verknüpft.Die umfassende Erforschung der Museumssammlungen von Hinterglasbildern auf dem Gebiet der Tschechischen Republik umfasst praktisch rund 350 Exemplare in rund 20 Museumssammlungen. Sie setzt sich aus der sog. Gruppe mit Pastellkolorit, der Gruppe mit buntem Ornament und der jüngsten Gruppe mit einer blauen Tönung zusammen.

The folk reverse glass painting of Eastern Silesia is one of the independent regional variants. Its formation is linked to the area east of Ostrava. The extensive research of the museum collections of reverse glass paintings in the territory of the Czech Republic includes practically around 350 specimens in around 20 museum collections. It is made up of the so-called oldest group with pastel colors, the group with colored ornamentation and the youngest group with a blue tint.
