The book Europa humanistica II: Editing and translating ancient classics in the Czech lands at the turn of the 16th century focuses on early Humanist editions of classics published by several early Humanist scholars of Bohemian origin. Besides the general introduction, the book comprises a list of these volumes. Each entry is provided with a critical edition of the paratexts with annotations and metadata. Marcela Slavíková collected the editorial work of Johannes Honorius Cubitensis, who was a professor of poetics and rhetoric at Leipzig University from 1488 until 1504. There are around 20 editions preserved under his name. All of them were intended to be used as textbooks at the University of Leipzig. Honorius’s poems that were found outside of his editions are also included.
