Studie se zabývá pojmem česká teorie a dialektikou lokálního a globálního. Pojem česká teorie zavedl Vít Gvoždiak, který tak označil soubor strukturálních a sémiotických koncepcí rozvíjených v českém prostředí v průběhu 20. století. Inspiroval se studií o estonské teorii od Kalevi Kulla a Marka Tamma. Z užití pojmů česká teorie a estonská teorie je patrný důraz na teritorializaci teorie. Na to, že vědecké teorie vznikají a šíří se v konkrétním (lokálním) prostoru. Za základě této myšlenky autor studie uvažuje o specifické dialektice lokálního a globálního. Její projevy dokládá konkrétními příklady z dějin literární vědy. Analogicky k pojmu české teorie pak v závěru práce uvažuje o existenci slovenské teorie.

The study deals with the notion of Czech theory and the dialectics of the local and the global. The term Czech theory was introduced by Vít Gvoždiak, who used it to describe a set of structural and semiotic concepts developed in the Czech environment during the 20th century. He was inspired by a study of Estonian theory by Kalevi Kull and Mark Tamm. The use of the terms Czech theory and Estonian theory shows an emphasis on the territorialization of theory. That scientific theories emerge and spread in a specific (local) space. Based on this idea, the author of the study considers the specific dialectic of the local and the global. He illustrates its manifestations with concrete examples from the history of literary criticism. Analogous to the notion of Czech theory, he concludes the paper by considering the existence of Slovak theory.
