α-Fe2O3 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) (Fe-1, Fe-2 and Fe-3) were prepared by a simple wet chemical precipitation route and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic behaviors of the as-prepared Fe3O4 nanoparticles were done using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). In addition, the as-prepared α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were used as photocatalyst for degradation and removal of methyl orange (MO) dye under visible light irradiation from aqueous solution.
