The work is focused on evaluation of macrolithic artefacts from Early Neolithic Brunn am Gebirge site, in Lower Austria. They comprised an assemblage of altogether 216 units with an overall weight of nearly 112 kg. Altogether 71 stones (approximately 33 %) with an overall weight of nearly 60 kg bore various traces of shaping or wear, or they represented waste (such as drilling cores) of the production of macrolithic tools. The category of pebble tools at the site under study included altogether 45 units (63 %), the category of grinding tools covers 15 artefacts (21 %), the category of polished tools only 11 (15 %) pieces. The results of analyses of macrolithic artefacts from Brunn am Gebirge have brought several important pieces of knowledge about this important early LBK site. First of all, it is the small quantity of the macrolithic finds, very uncharacteristic of the LBK territory. Perhaps the most interesting discovery is the small quantity of macrolithics gathered on so extensive area.
