Small RNA pathways are a group of pathways that use small RNAs for sequence-specific repression. This set of chapters on small RNA pathways originates from a report prepared for the European Food and Safety Authority (EFSA) in 2016 and 2017. The text has been revised into twelve chapters, material subject to the copyright of third parties has been omitted. Nine chapters are devoted to the pathways of small RNAs in animals and plants, the remaining three cover the general introduction and issues of extracellular RNA.
