Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) is a new European research infrastructure for nuclear and hadron physics included in ESFRI roadmap since 2006. FAIR is currently under construction at Darmstadt in Germany as a part of the capacity of GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung. FAIR-CZ, Czech Research Infrastructure addresses the approach of the Czech Republic to FAIR in general, and access of the Czech communities to the research activities in hadron physics, nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics.
