Atlas nářečí českého jazyka: krácení vokálů přibližuje čtenářům problematiku výzkumu krácení samohlásek v nářečích na území Česka. Atlas je jedinečný svým vizuálním stylem analytických a syntetických nářečních map v nově sestaveném znakovém klíči. První oddíl atlasu obsahuje analytické nářeční mapy znázorňující krácení vokálů u 16 vybraných slov. Mapy zachycují prostorové rozložení hláskových variant v prvním, v některých případech i v jiném pádě. Druhý oddíl atlasu obsahuje syntetické nářeční mapy sestavené typizací a regionalizací z map v prvním oddíle. Mapy 6 typů a 13 regionů krácení vokálů představují vyvrcholení kartografické práce a přinášejí hodnotné dialektologické výsledky.

Atlas of the dialect of the Czech language: shortening of vowels introduces readers to the issue of research into the shortening of vowels in dialects in the Czech Republic. The atlas is unique with its visual style of analytical and synthetic dialect maps in a newly assembled character key. The first section of the atlas contains analytical dialect maps showing the shortening of vowels for 16 selected words. Maps capture the spatial distribution of phonetic variants in the first, and in some maps in another case. The second section of the atlas contains synthetic dialect maps compiled by typization and regionalization from the maps in the first section. Maps of six types and 13 regions of vowel shortening represent the join achievement of linguists and cartographers and bring valuable dialectological results.
