Paměti zachycují především období 30. let 20. století, kdy František Bauer působil jako zpravodaj v Berlíně. Z „první ruky“ tak podchycuje nástup německého fašismu a podává autentická svědectví o německé meziválečné politice. Neméně zajímavé jsou pasáže věnované období po roce 1945, kdy působil jako vedoucí tiskového odboru ministerstva informací.

The memoirs mainly capture the period of the 1930s, when František Bauer worked as a correspondent in Berlin. First-hand, it captures the rise of German fascism and gives authentic testimonies of German interwar politics. Equally interesting are the passages devoted to the period after 1945, when he worked as the head of the press department of the Ministry of Information.
