Nevyriešená slovenská otázka, predstavujúca spor o autonómne postavenie Slovenska v rámci Československej republiky, sa v medzivojnovom období 20. storočia stala zdrojom politického napätia, ktorý viedlo k oslabeniu parlamentnej demokracie zvonku aj zvnútra republiky. Mníchovský diktát štyroch mocností Európy na konci septembra 1938 prispel zásadnou mierou k vzniku autoritatívneho režimu druhej republiky a následne aj k rozpadu Česko-Slovenska.

The unresolved Slovak issue, representing a dispute over the autonomous position of Slovakia within the Czechoslovak Republic, became a source of political tension in the interwar period of the 20th century, which led to the weakening of parliamentary democracy from outside and inside the republic. The Munich dictates of the four powers of Europe at the end of September 1938 contributed significantly to the emergence of the authoritarian regime of the Second Republic and subsequently to the disintegration of Czecho-Slovakia.
