Tematické číslo časopisu Philosophica critica se zaměřuje na aktuální relevantní téma pandemie koronaviru. Tematické číslo tvoří devět článků, které se na koronavirovou pandemii nezaměřují z lékařského hlediska, ale z perspektivy toho, jak pandemie komplikuje život společnosti a politiky. Sleduje především vládní opatření ve významných makroregionech a reakce na ně ve společnosti z perspektivy interdisciplinárních globálních studií, především na pomezí sociální a politické filosofie, sociologie a politologie. Konkrétně první článek nabízí zastřešující výklad tématu a ukazuje, jak se pandemie stala zdrojem politických a sociálních konfliktů i kooperace ve světě. Poté jsou jednotlivé články věnovány jednotlivým makroregionům: Číně, angloamerickému světu, Jižní Americe, Rusku, islámskému světu, Africe a Indii. Jak je zřejmé, všechny tyto makroregiony jsou významnými ekonomickými a politickými celky s rozsáhlými teritorii a početnou populací, některé z nich jsou přitom národními státy, případně i dlouhodobými civilizacemi. Jeden článek je zaměřen rovněž na místní prostředí v evropských souvislostech. Analýzy umožňují globální komparativní perspektivy.

The thematic issue of the Philosophica critica journal focuses on the current relevant topic of the coronavirus pandemic. The thematic issue consists of nine articles, which do not focus on the coronavirus pandemic from a medical point of view but from the perspective of how the pandemic complicates the life of society and politics. It mainly analyses government measures in important macro-regions of the world and reactions to them in society from the perspective of interdisciplinary global studies, especially on the boundaries of social and political philosophy, sociology and political science. Specifically, the first article offers an overarching explanation of the topic and shows how the pandemic has become a source of political and social conflict and cooperation in the world. Then, the individual articles are devoted to individual macro-regions: China, the Anglo-American world, South America, Russia, the Islamic world, Africa, and India. All these macro-regions are important economic and political units with large territories and large populations, some of which are nation-states, or also long-term civilizations. One article also focuses on the local issues in the European context. Analyses allow for global comparative perspectives.
