Dieser Handbuch-Beitrag behandelt die Ontologie von René Descartes. Er geht insbesondere auf die Entwicklungsstufen des Substanzbegriffs in Descartes‘ Werken ein. Darüber hinaus versucht er, die verschiedenen Verwendungsweisen des Ausdrucks „Substanz“ in eine typologische Einheit zu bringen. Den Abschluß des Beitrages macht ein Nachtrag zur Ontologie der Idee bei Descartes.
This handbook article deals with René Descartes’ Ontology. Its main focus is on the development of Descartes’ notion of “substance”. In addition to that, it tries to offer a consistent typological interpretation of the different uses of “substance” in Descartes. The contribution concludes with an appendix on the ontology of the idea in Descartes.
