The cells of S. aureus (methicillin susceptible or methicillin-resistant) and of P. aeruginosa were adhered onto nano-etched FS surface prepared by etching with SCW from 100 mL physiological saline solution, bovine serum, or human blood, and separated on-line by MEKC and off-line by MALDI-TOF MS. The limits of detection was from 180 to 1700 cells mL−1 at MEKC analysis and 4000 cells mL−1 at MALDI-TOF MS.
