Georeliéf zásadním způsobem ovlivnil sídelní strukturu raně středověkého rezidenčního areálu, který se v 9. století formoval na východní výspě hradčanského hřbetu. Kniha podává přehled o stavu a výpovědi publikovaných pramenů k tématice georeliéfu Pražského hradu. Vyhodnocuje písemné, ikonografické a především archeologické prameny, shrnuje poznatky o geologické stavbě ostrohu. Představuje digitální modely původního reliéfu a antropogenního reliéfu kolem r. 1200 rekonstruované na základě dat získaných z archeologických a geologických sond. Podrobná analýza modelů je provedena s ohledem na rozložení sítě komunikací, vedení opevnění a vnitřní organizaci prostoru raně středověkého Hradu v kontextu osídlení malostranské kotliny a rodící se pražské aglomerace.

The structure of the residential area, which began to develop in the eastern part of the Hradčany ridge in the 9th century, was determined by the physical relief. The book offers an overview of the state of art, of the evidence of the published sources concerning the physical relief of Prague Castle, equally evaluates historical written, iconographic and archaeological sources and summarizes findings on the geological structure of the Castle spur. The digital model of the original relief and the model of the anthropogenic relief in about AD 1200 is reconstructed on the basis of data set from the archaeological and geological records. Detailed analysis of models is made with regard to the network of ways and the fortification or the inner space structuring of the early medieval Castle in the context of the settlement of the Lesser Town basin and Prague agglomeration.
