Nowadays, searching for a green source of energy is necessary due to the gradual depletion of fossil fuels and environmental protection concerns. One of the promising alternatives of energy is biogas obtained from waste biomass by anaerobic digestion. Biogas may become a suitable alternative fuel when undesired impurities are removed to improve its heating value and avoid corrosion of inner parts of turbines and engines. On the other hand, selectively removed
carbon dioxide from raw biogas can be further used for other environmentally friendly processes, not only to supercritical extractions of biological materials or algae growth but also to chemical syntheses, e.g. of urea industrial production and of many other fine chemicals production.
