Microalgae are a rich source of bioactive compounds for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutritional purposes (w-3-unsaturated fatty acids, chlorophyll, carotenoids, etc.). Algae have been given considerable attention in the BIORAF project. Regarding algae cultivation, greatest costs are connected with nutrients and energy. The aim of this study was experimental verification of a proposed novel technology of energy and materials production based on microalgaecultivation consisting of the following process steps.
