The Battle of the White Mountain belongs among the most important events of the Central European development of the Early Modern period. This study analyses the importance of the dramatic changes before and after the battle in a framework of the collapse theory. It documents the long-term crisis of both Habsburg-Catholic and Estates-Protestant systems of government and regulation of political and social matters, and interprete the fall of a state ruled by the estates as a total collaps of the Estates-Protestant system in a very critical situation.
